Latest Canadian Coronavirus Immigration Update

2021

November 8: The U.S. fully reopened to many vaccinated international travelers.

September 15: Canada reopened their border to all fully vaccinated travelers. Those coming to Canada must be fully vaccinated, asymptomatic, and meet other travel requirements such as a negative pre-entry COVID test. Learn more about this new travel update for those coming from abroad.

August 9: Canada opened their border to fully vaccinated US tourists. Not only will travelers need to be fully vaccinated, but a negative COVID test is needed. Learn more about this travel restriction change here.

June 22: Beginning July 5, Canada will be lifting most international travel restrictions for fully vaccinated Canadians, permanent residents, and some foreign citizens, allowing individuals eligible to travel with more ease.

If completely vaccinated against COVID-19, EDT travelers who are currently eligible to enter Canada under the present restrictions will soon be able to do so without having to self-isolate for 14 days, undergo a COVID test on day eight, or stay in a quarantined hotel upon arrival.

June 18: Canada extended the border closure until July 21, 2021

April 26: Canada is added to the United States’ “Do Not Travel” list along with 200 other countries. This list advises citizens of the US which countries have a high level of COVID-19 cases and recommends they do not visit these countries.

Latest US Coronavirus Immigration Update

November 8 Update: COVID-19 travel restrictions for fully vaccinated international visitors to the US are lifted. Non-U.S. air travelers will need to show proof of vaccination before boarding a flight and will need to show proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test. The new rules do not require foreign visitors or Americans entering the country to go into quarantine.

October 29 Update: The US Department of Homeland Security stated that a negative COVID-19 test will not be required for entry through the country’s land border and ferry ports, which will open on November 8. Proof of vaccination will still be required, however.

September 1: The United States DHS originally made the decision to extend the US border restrictions until September 21st due to the increase in cases of the COVID-19 delta variant. Because the virus is still aggressively spreading across the nation, the US has extended these travel restrictions for another 30 days!

August: Due to the Delta COVID-19 variant spreading, the US has decided to extend restrictions on non-essential travel across both land and ferry borders with Canada and Mexico to September 21st.

July 21: The United States government announced plans to extend the closure of land borders with both Canada and Mexico to August 21st. This will only be in effect to non-essential travelers such as tourists and visitors.

January 26: President Biden signed new travel restriction policies to stop the spread of COVID-19. This was created to stop non-citizens from traveling to the United States that may be coming from infected countries. There were strict guidelines put in place that banned a number of countries from traveling to the US and those individuals who are allowed to. Message from CEO Michael Niren

Largexjpg

Hello everyone. This is Michael Niren, CEO of VisaPlace. We are all going through uncertain times and here at VisaPlace we are taking the necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of our staff and clients.

The GOOD NEWS is that despite the headlines, this is a great time to apply for your visa! The reason is that many people are afraid to do anything and so the number of new visa applications will likely slow down or already has. This means that once the virus crisis passes, expect a HUGE influx and demand for visa applications that may flood the system. That is a situation you do not want to be in. So NOW is the BEST time to apply. If you get a head of the rush, your application will be finalized much sooner than those who wait. This has always been true but is especially the case now during these challenging times.

So feel free to call us or visit us as www.visaplace.com/bookonline to arrange for an “anti-virus” consultation at a 25% discount (from the comfort of your own home) with one of our immigration professionals.

We wish you all the best and good health.

Michael Niren

CEO VisaPlace.
